Reflections on the power of life’s beauty is a common theme in the work of lulu Clifton-Evans.

lulu is emerging as a professional artist this year after a decade of healing and meditation – and is exhibiting under the name bylulu.

Her focus is the beauty of every day life in nature - which often offers unexpected moments of revelation reflected in colour, tone and atmosphere. Inspiration comes from her garden, her studio quaker parrots and her pets such as Henri (pictured).

She is mentored by members of the Melbourne Twenty Painters Society, lulu specialises in the richness of traditional oil painting.

Her work is currently held in collections in Paris, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Australia.

Recently Lulu won the Victorian Artist Society Maritime Award and 2023 Thomas Somerscales Trophy recently as well the 2023 VAS Curator Award for Best painting in the Summer Exhibition.. She was a finalist in the 2023 John Dudley Portrait Prize. She won the 2022 Oakhill Annual Exhibition and was a finalist in the 2022 AME Bale Scholarship.
