Art has always held a central place in my life.

After working for a number of years as a designer, I made a natural move into project management where I got very distracted working on large infrastructure projects for 17 years. In 2014 I found my way back to painting as a hobby and was reminded of how much I loved and missed doing art. And to be honest, how much happier I was when I was being creative. Since mid 2017 art, and now design, have been my full-time occupation. I paint, what have been described as, intriguing landscapes of beauty and colour. My work is mostly abstract landscapes, for which I have developed my own style and method. Although I have foundations in design, I am largely a self-taught artist when it comes to using paint, mediums and canvas. I paint using acrylic paint because I like the way it dries quickly, and it suits my style of working.

I am fascinated by light, blending of colour, layering of colour, textures and patterns and the harmonies and contrasts of that can be achieved when these elements work together. Living on the Mornington Peninsula also offers me the inspiration of nature itself. You will find hills, vineyards, the sea, beaches and people in most of my work. I enjoy painting in both large and small format and usually prepare a number of collections each year in both small and large format on canvas (for the large works) and paper for the small works. I hope to be able to open my studio to the public and to have in person shows again very soon.
